Accommodation

When choosing accommodation, students should opt for an area best suiting their individual needs, which is located not too far away from the training centre and is preferably close to public transport.

Homestay

This option is for those who wish to reside with a family in and around the Dublin area and where they can experience Irish family life and practice their English skills outside of the classroom.  Staying with a host family is a great way of experiencing Irish culture and the Irish way of life and we feel is an invaluable experience.

All our homestay families have been visited by our accommodation officer and are re-visited regularly to ensure quality standards are maintained. Our families offer a welcoming and warm atmosphere, with the emphasis upon being part of the family.

All our families live in the Dublin area and students travel on average 30 minutes by public transport (bus, tram or train) between the host family and the school. Most families are on direct transport links to the city centre.

You will get breakfast and an evening meal every day, and lunch at the weekend.
Breakfast usually consists of cornflakes and toast. For lunch students can expect a light meal such as a sandwich, a salad or soup. The main meal in Ireland is dinner. This meal will typically be served by the host family between 6pm-7pm.  Dinner is usually freshly prepared each night and might include meat or fish, vegetables and either rice, pasta, or potatoes, depending on the family.

Some host families are happy to cater for special diets such as vegetarian, halal or kosher.  Mealtimes are a great opportunity to sit down with the family and practice the English you have learnt in school that day!

Students can expect a bed and storage space such as a wardrobe and/or chest of drawers. There will also be either a desk in the room or somewhere quiet in the house where you can study.

The family will provide fresh bed linen and towels once a week. Students also have the use of the washing machine.
Students will be provided with their own key. All our families have access to the internet.
The student will usually share a bathroom with the family.

In a standard homestay the student will share the bathroom with family members and/or other students.

If you would like to have access to a private bathroom, please book Executive Homestay.

If you are not happy with your family, please speak to the Accommodation Manager. A change of host families can be arranged with one week notice.

Homestay families can host between 1 and 4 students in their home. Each student will have their own bedroom and students who speak the same native language are not placed together, unless specifically requested.

Our Homestay families can be quite diverse. They may be families with young children or teenagers, couples without children or singles.  They also come from a variety of cultural backgrounds.  All of our host families are native English speakers and offer a welcoming and supportive environment for students.
